Depression

"Thanks to Laura's guidance, I have started to
think differently and treat myself with more kindness."  J.M.

Have you lost interest in things you used to enjoy?  Do you feel overwhelmed?  Are you tired or have no energy?

These are just a few symptoms of depression.  Depression can be brought on by a specific situation such as the loss of a job, the end of a relationship or even a happy event such as the birth of a baby.  Depression can also occur for no apparent reason.

Depression can be treated with medication or psychotherapy, or a combination of both.  There are many effective ways to treat depression that do not require medication.

Research has shown that the longer the period of time between the onset of depression and the beginning of treatment, the longer it takes to feel better.  It's important to seek help soon after you realize you may be depressed.

Marriage &
Couples Counseling

"Laura was amazing at helping my husband and I work through our issues ...
She gave us a fun and supportive environment to grow in our marriage.
We are very grateful to her for everything she has helped us accomplish.
Thank you Laura!!"   P.T.

Do you lie awake at night worrying about your relationship?

Maybe you've experienced a crisis in your marriage or relationship that you don't know how to resolve and heal.

Maybe these feelings aren't so strong as to keep you awake at night, but you just have this vague sense of dissatisfaction with your relationship.   You've lost the intimacy and connection you once had and you don't know how to get it back.

Marriage changes as your relationship deepens.  Some face challenges that require repair in
order to grow and mature and some are high-functioning and simply need enrichment to meet
the same goal.

All relationships though, require nurturing and attention.   Whether change has come gradually to
your relationship or quickly putting your relationship in need of immediate attention, I can help.

we all experience one would consider positive such as marriage or a new baby.

The following are examples of life transitions that benefit greatly from counseling or
therapy:

  • Marriage
  • Divorce
  • Career change
  • Job Loss
  • College graduation
  • New baby
  • Empty nest
  • Death of a parent
  • Midlife crisis
  • Retirement

Personal &
Spiritual Growth

"Working with Laura was great.   She helped me to look at things in new ways and to
deepen my understanding of what was going on for me.  Because of her
breadth of experience she was able to provide meaningful examples that
helped to put into context our discussion and make it more "real" for me."  K.C.

Personal and spiritual growth is a sometimes intense journey and it would be my honor to accompany you to help you grow into the person whom you were meant to become.

Empathy and compassion are critical in helping you achieve this growth.   I will provide you with both in a caring, non-judgmental environment as we challenge your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs.
